Dainty & Delicately Decorated: Coalport Jug

A shapely, embossed jug - perfect for Devonshire Teas and tea parties. Could also be used as a vase for bunches of violets or other short stemmed spring flowers.

The style of the maker's mark dates this item from late 19th or early 20th century. “England” was added to the mark c1891.

The pattern is the famous “Sevres Group” with floral decorations over embossed scrolls on a white bone chine body. A shapely form with quite a lovely fluted neck and spout. Trimmed with gold which is showing a small amount of wear. No chips, cracks or crazing.

11 cm high.  In excellent, vintage condition.
